I am proud and pleased to have worked with the following groups. I hope to continue to do so.

Vision of Hope Awards
What an honor to be the MC for the "Vision of Hope" Awards for the Turtle Creek Manor. TCM is the only residential program in North Texas that serves both men and women who have co-occurring disorders of severe mental illness and alcohol or drug addiction. James Frey (penned "A Million Little Pieces") was supposed to deliver the keynote address, but we were so thankful that we were treated to Dr. Drew Pinsky instead. Listen to Dr. Drew any night of the week on his syndicated radio show. --Feb 2006
Greenhill School
Not much can get me out of bed early in the morning - but the students at Greenhill were worth it. I spoke to about 450 Upper Classmen about suicide and depression. They lost a fellow student just a few years ago, so this is a subject that hit very close to home. --Jan 2006
Visiting Nurse's Association
The Visiting Nurse's Association hosts a bereavement luncheon once a month - and I was the keynote speaker at the January event. I met some incredibly strong people - all of whom have lost someone close to them. There were a lot of tears and a lot of sharing, but I hope there was also some healing. I strongly encourage you to attend one of their luncheons if you ever find yourself in need. --Jan 2006
Book Signing, Borders Books - Dallas
This was all about Q/A from those who attended tonight's presentation at Borders on Preston and Royal. Thank you for all your support and I wish you the best in your journey. Thanks for coming! --Dec 2005
My Book Release Event - Dallas
A couple of hundred people bundled up on this chilly night to show their support for the official release of my book and for a couple of outstanding non-profits. Benefiting from the event - the Starfish Foundation and CONTACT crisis line. Great company and yummy food. McCormick and Schmick's created a special menu - the Chef did a great job! Thank you to everyone for coming! --Dec 2005
Book Signing, Borders Books - Lewisville
How great to meet other North Texas authors at this Author Appreciation Event. This was a chance for us to get together to talk about why we write - and to share that with those who stopped by. --Dec 2005
Book Signing, Borders Books - Ft. Worth
Thanks to everybody who stopped by the Hulen Mall Borders Books Store. It was very emotional at times - so many of you had read Bud Kennedy's article. I appreciate your kind words, and I also wish you the best in your own healing. Keep in touch! --Dec 2005
Real Girls Real Women
I was honored to be the MC of this Girl Scout event. It was an inspiring luncheon with keynote speaker, Southwest Airlines' President Colleen Barrett, and honored girls and adults who build courage and confidence in themselves and others. We all had a great time at this Inaugural Luncheon! We loved hearing Scouting stories from Senator Florence Shapiro and the Red Cross' Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones. --Nov 2005
Girl Scout Jamboree
What a fun Saturday night! More than 200 young ladies and their moms talked fitness and fashion, education and exercise. I was thrilled to share stories about my life in television, and my life as a Girl Scout! One of the best questions of the night? When a little girl asked what my most embarrassing moment on TV was. We all got a laugh out of that story! --Nov 2005
Komen Race for the Cure
So what gets 32,000 people to NorthPark Center at 7:30 on a Saturday morning? Nancy Nasher is expanding the mall, but the new Nordstrom doesn't open until next month! On this particular Saturday, everyone is there to raise money for breast cancer research. The event wouldn't be possible without the 1500 volunteers who took part, and the thousands who "Raced for the Cure." --Oct 2005
NAMI Conference
Thanks so much to everyone at NAMI for putting on an incredible event. NAMI is dedicated to the eradication of mental illnesses and to the improvement of the quality of life of whose lives are affected by mental illness. The conference in Dallas was outstanding and I appreciate being asked to be the keynote speaker for such a well-respected and worthwhile organization. --Sept 2005
Girl Scout Kickoff
Hundreds of Girl Scout Leaders and volunteers kicked off the school year with some great ideas on how to make Scouting even more memorable for girls. I was active in Scouting from my days as a Brownie through high school. I was thrilled to share my memories as a Girl Scout at the event. --August 2005
Komen Affiliate Conference
"A Promise in Action" brought more than 800 volunteers, advocates and breast cancer survivors from across the country together to exchange ideas on how to beat breast cancer. Survivor and WNBA star Edna Campbell shared her survival story!I was honored to be the MC. --Spring 2005
Variety the Children's Charity
You've never seen a smile as big as the one on the face of a child getting their first bike! I was the MC at "Bikes for Kids" where the morning included a movie, popcorn, and a brand new bike. --Spring 2005
Styling for a Cure
The Children's Cancer Fund puts on an inspiring fashion show every year with Honorary Chairs Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach. The stars of the show - young cancer patients and survivors. --April 2005
Komen Race for the Cure
Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with breast cancer. Each year more than 35,000 people hit the streets of North Texas to stomp out breast cancer raising 1.5 million dollars. Clarice, Megan and I were honored to be this year's Honorary Co-Chairs for the race!
MADD Award
North Texas students from Mesquite's Poteet High School helped dramatize what happens when teens pick up a drink then pick up the keys. Incredibly talented photographers JP and John Thompson shot the students' work, while I hosted a half-hour special that followed the emotional journey. We were then honored to be recognized nationally for our work by MADD. --Summer 2004
Texas Special Olympics
Special Olympians are all winners! And I was proud to serve as an Honorary Chairman, along with baseball legend Nolan Ryan, and Radio's Anna De Hora, for the 5k through downtown Dallas. It's all to raise funds and awareness for our Special Olympians. --March 2005
